STEPS TO SCHEDULE DOG TRAINING

1. FILL OUT MY DOG TRAINING FORM

You will need to do this before paying for sessions. I will evaluate your case and respond via email whether I think video training will work in your situation. I have tons of experience and can help with any situation in person. However, there are certain issues (such as extreme aggression) where video training isn't as effective. I want to help as many people and dogs as possible, and I want you to be successful.

Please fill out my dog training form here

2. SCHEDULE SESSIONS - PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL SESSIONS ARE SCHEDULED IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST)

After I review your form and determine that I can help you via video chat, we will schedule sessions. I will email a number of scheduling options that are currently available. Sessions are first-come, first scheduled. If you select a time spot that is already taken, I will offer other options.

I have availability most days from 10am(CST) - 6pm (CST) start times.

3. PAY FOR SESSIONS

After we agree to a meeting time, you will need to pay using PayPal or Venmo for your sessions. Your session will not be reserved until I receive payment.

Please note, within PayPal you can also select Venmo as a payment option.

4. DECIDE WHICH VIDEO FORMAT YOU WANT TO USE

Most iPhones, iPads and Apple Computers come with FaceTime installed. If you need to install it, you can Download FaceTime. At this time, FaceTime is not available on Android phones or PCs.

6. I WILL EMAIL YOU CONFIRMATIONS

I will email you to inform you that you secured a specific time spot, and I will also email you the day before our session. Please confirm that you are available for the session, as scheduled.

Please note: All sessions are scheduled in Eastern Standard Time (EST)

7. WHAT YOU NEED FOR THE SESSION

Required:

  •  Treats that your dog loves
  • A 6 foot leash (not a retractable)
  • A location to work. You could work inside or outside with your dog as long as you have a way to either support your phone or tablet or someone to help you by holding the video device while you are working. Often just working inside with me explaining the strategies makes sense for the first session. You might need multiple sessions to accomplish your goals and for me to explain what to do.

Recommended:

  • A clicker. This is not required, but is a very useful training tool. You can always purchase one later as well. If you don't have one, you can use, "Yes!" as a marker. I will explain more during our session. Here are some examples of clickers that you can purchase. https://amzn.to/2JRrxBf     https://amzn.to/3e9oRwB     https://amzn.to/2Vdnu7u You can find clickers at multiple places online or in pet food stores.

TESTIMONIALS

Here are some testimonials from happy clients. Video training can work with the right trainer!

“Thank you so much! This was so beyond helpful. The virtual visit was actually great, I think especially for her since she is so nervous with strangers in the house.”

"My 7 month old puppy, Oscar, has demonstrated some leash reactivity, resource guarding, and general social awkwardness so I wanted to find a positive reinforcement trainer to work with to help Oscar through some of these behaviors. Jeff came highly recommended from a friend from our puppy class, and we couldn't be happier about the progress we've made while working with him. Because of the COVID19 pandemic, our sessions are postponed for the foreseeable future, but we set up the meeting through Zoom, and it was super easy to join. We chatted about Oscar's progress and Jeff gave me great feedback and lots of things to work on through the next few weeks to continue improving Oscar's social skills. He is truly a wonderful dog trainer and I really appreciate how he listens to all my concerns and patiently explains his suggested approach and provides so much detail on the methodology behind his recommendations. I am looking forward to our next in-person session, but in the meantime, the virtual session was a great way to keep us engaged in this process, and has set us up to continue moving forward with our training in the interim."

"Our training session translated much easier than I would have expected to the virtual Zoom environment. It was very helpful to chat through my specific questions and get some ideas for more indoor-specific training I can do. Since this part of our session was more conversation-based, it felt very normal and easy on Zoom. I also felt that when I was demonstrating "go to bed" with her, I was surprised with how much detail you were able to see on Zoom, and it actually did feel like you were in the room with me, helping me and giving corrections as I went. I did not expect this part of the virtual session to be so seamless and thought it might feel a bit bumpier or less impactful, but this was not the case. I am planning to schedule another virtual session in a couple weeks.”
